Vic: Don't waste $6 bln navy contract on SA: report

MELBOURNE, May 17 AAP - Awarding a $6 billion navy destroyer contract to a South Australian
bidder - and not a Victorian shipyard - would put the nation's shipbuilding industry at
risk, a consulting group has warned.

The Allen Consulting Group report, commissioned by the Victorian government, also concluded
in its analysis of the Australian shipbuilding industry that federal funds would be wasted
by not awarding the contract to Victoria.
