Soc: Debrecen win first Hungarian title
BUDAPEST, May 15 Reuters - Debrecen won their first Hungarian title today, a day after
they thrashed Bekescsaba 5-1, when their closest rivals Ferencvaros lost 2-0 at Pecs.
The result gave Debrecen an unassailable eight-point lead over second-placed Gyori
ETO with Ferencvaros remaining third, nine points adrift, with two games to go.
"We deserved the victory today and we are worthy champions. No one could question it,"
said Debrecen manager Attila Supka after Saturday's win.
