A number of opera patrons in the Orpheum audience on Friday night, March
18, must have recalled the glory days of Memphis operetta. Summer nights in
the Overton Park Shell glistened and resounded with the music of composers
Friml, Kern, Herbert, Romberg and Lehar. The scores of such favorites as
"The Student Prince," "The Firefly," Rosemarie," "The Desert Song," and.
