Fed: Howard says Gallipoli road works more extensive

CANBERRA, May 6 AAP - Controversial road works at Anzac Cove are more extensive than
the government expected but have improved access for crowds attending Anzac Day commemorations,
Prime Minister John Howard said today.

Mr Howard said he had inspected the new road works during his visit to Gallipoli.

"I thought it was more extensive than I might have liked," he told Southern Cross Broadcasting.

"We asked for road works in other areas. We also accepted that some remedial work was
needed on that ...
