After hours of plowing east through empty waters, this Korean Coast Guard patrol ship suddenly encountered seagulls. As they wheeled overhead and glided alongside, a jagged black rock emerged from the gray mists, rising 90 meters from black waters. It was Dokdo, or Lonely Island.
