'Women In Civil Rights: Unheard Unsung Voices of Freedom'

For the past three years, City Councilman Ivory Lee Young celebrated Black
History Month with a film series showing the acclaimed "Eyes on the Prize"
but decided to change course this year to tell the stories of women in
civil rights whose voices have not been heard. He chose the theme, "Women
in Civil Rights: Unheard Unsung Voices of Freedom," to represent the many
women who had the courage to sacrifice their personal freedom, often
putting their lives on the line to open doors in politics, education and
