On Saturday, February 12, 2005, I went to the Royal Academy to see the
exhibition "Turks."

I will first deal with the purpose and aim of this exhibition, clearly set
out in the "Forewords" by the Prime Ministers of Turkey and Great Britain,
placed side by side in the Catalogue. Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime
