The murderous two-year conflict in the Darfur province of Sudan, in which
government-backed Arab militias have claimed the lives of some 70,000 black
Africans and driven another 2 million from their homes, has struggled to
capture international attention.

But it has, in fact, been adopted as a cause by two Philadelphia-area
students.

Yael Tarshish, a senior at Akiba Hebrew Academy in Merion Station, and
