Jazz legend Billie Holiday was known to her legions of fans around the
world as "Lady Day." But a new play indicates that "Lady Day" was no prim
and proper "lady," but rather a complex artist who had a sweet voice, a
foul mouth and a tough exterior that hid not-so-private pain.

"Lady Day," a critically acclaimed play by Lanie Robertson, is currently
being presented by the Contemporary American Theatre Company through March
27 in the Studio One Theatre in the Riffe Center, 77 S. High Street. The
Brownstone Restaurant on Main Street will also host ...
