Fed: Genetic screening can save lives: research

BRISBANE, April 27 AAP - Bank worker Simon Scuttleworth believes a workplace genetic
screening program has probably lengthened his life.
Mr Scuttleworth, 31, was tested for the gene variation that causes the iron overload
disorder haemochromatosis and despite ongoing societal concerns about issues surrounding
genetic testing, he's glad he did.
"I think at the end of the day, it's probably ensured this disease won't kill me," he said.
