Purim in February? It's no joke!

Approximately once every three years, the Jewish calendar contains two
months called Adar: Adar I and Adar II -- the latter arriving only on leap
years. Purim, which takes place in Adar, is thus celebrated twice, during
both months.

Purim, of course, is the story of how the Jews of Shushan, Persia
(modern-day Iraq), narrowly escaped being killed by King Ahasuerus'
viceroy, Haman. Purim began at the time the book of Esther was written,
around 350 BCE.
