Prison parole system may be in use next year

SEREMBAN, Thurs. - Rehabilitated prisoners may be released before
completion of their sentences by the end of next year under the prison
parole system.
Internal Security Deputy Minister Chia Kwang Chye said the final draft
of a Cabinet paper was being fine-tuned before being presented to Datuk
Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi for approval. It will then be submitted to the
Cabinet for approval before being tabled in Parliament.
Chia launched the "Message from Prison" programme themed Jauhi Jenayah
