Moiya Fields was a young woman with a bright future in 1997. She worked as
a correctional officer and was expecting a child. This is where the future
took an abrupt detour.

Moiya was diagnosed with her second ectopic pregnancy (conception in the
fallopian tubes). After surgery to remove the embryo, she was in constant
pain to the point of only being able to perform light duty on the job.

Two years later she went for a fertility test and a sponge that was left
inside her was visible in the X-rays. The sponge was left in the pelvic
