Harlem School of Arts receives grant from Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone

The Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone (UMEZ) Development Corporation
recently awarded the Harlem School of Arts with a grant of $127,000 to help
strengthen the administrative infrastructure of the school and ensure its
longterm financial stability.
"Helping cultural institutions in upper Manhattan is one of our primary
goals," said Aaron Donovan, director of communications at UMEZ. "The more
museums and performance groups and other cultural attractions there are
uptown, the more visitors will come here, which means more dollars flowing
