Sunday, February 13, 2005 -- Everyone knows, or thinks they do, that the fish farms in the Gulf of Eilat are threatening the coral reef and must be removed. A Jerusalem Post editorial titled "Save the coral reef" (November 21), for example, fell into this common trap.

The truth is that it is possible to cherish and nurture the coral reef, as we should, without mistakenly scapegoating the fish farming enterprise.
