Vic:Tendering for $6 bln destroyer contract to be fair:Bracks
MELBOURNE, Feb 11 AAP - The race to win a $6 billion defence contract - between a Melbourne-based
firm, a government corporation and a US company - would be free from political bias, Victorian
Premier Steve Bracks said today.
After lobbying Prime Minister John Howard in Canberra yesterday, Mr Bracks said he
had been assured the tender process to build three air war destroyers would remain independent.
