Fed: Gov't lets 11 new oil and gas permits

The federal government says petroleum companies will invest almost $220 million in
oil and gas exploration after new permits were granted to explore waters off WA and Tasmania.

Industry Minister IAN MACFARLANE has announced 11 new permits, as part of the government's
program of releasing offshore acreage for petroleum exploration.
