Mariner's Inn provides drug rehabilitation services

In 2005, Mariner's Inn, located at 445 Ledyard at Cass, will celebrate 50
years of providing drug rehabilitation services to homeless men in Detroit.

Clinical Director David Sampson said the men who come to Mariner's Inn are
typically granted a 90-day stay.

"They come through the Department of Health and Wellness Promotion,
formerly known as the Detroit Health Department," Sampson said, adding that
Mariner's Inn tries to provide the men with coping skills and mechanisms
necessary to prevent relapse back into substance abuse.
