Duke Ellington Students Pay Homage to Georgette Seabrook Powell

During the month of October, the Duke Ellington School of the Arts
displayed in the school's gallery, several visual art prints by Georgette
Seabrook Powell. A reception was held on September 23rd in her honor.
The exhibit entitled "Deciphering a Legend" was presented by the Museum
Studies students, who used Powell's paintings as their first exhibit of the
year. Mitzi Yates, principal at Duke Ellington said, "When you see our
