Rewards For Learning Black History; Some Troops Offer A Patch To Girls Who Learn About African American Culture

Girl Scouts have long employed the reward system, with young members
earning patches for different activities they complete. Troop leaders are
always on the lookout for new patches for "their girls" to wear with pride.
With Black History Month fast approaching, some troops offer a patch to
girls who learn about African American culture.
Suggested activities include:
1. Compiling a list of African American women who made significant
contributions in the areas of science/technology, the arts/literature,
politics/civil leadership. Make sure that your list includes women ...
