NT: CLP leader resigns prompting speculation of NT poll

DARWIN, Feb 4 AAP - Speculation is brewing of a possible early Northern Territory election,
after the surprise resignation of the opposition leader today.

Territorians are due to go to the polls by mid-October, but some believe it could be
held earlier after Country Liberal Party leader Terry Mills today quit after 14 months
in the top job.

Chief Minister Clare Martin refused to be drawn on when an election could be called,
only saying she was "getting on with government".
