Friday, January 14, 2005 -- Eliezer Divash was designated to succeed his father as chief of an Ethiopian Coptic village, but ran away from home and survived uncountable dangers en route to South Africa, where he converted to Judaism. Now he's a yeshiva student in Jerusalem.

"My life is a miracle," he says.
