On September 15, 2004, the District of Columbia Courts formally opened the
new Family Court facility in the Moultrie Courthouse. The facility, which
is being unveiled at Wednesday's grand opening, marks the first phase of
renovation that improves and consolidates the Family Court space within the
Moultrie Courthouse.

"The new Family Court facilities are designed to make what can be a
harrowing experience -- a neglect case, a divorce and custody proceeding,
or a juvenile charge -- less forbidding to those most vulnerable, the
