The re-election of George W Bush as United States President means a more
vigorous continuation of his administration's policies followed in the
first term. For India, the initial relief is that the process of the last
four years can continue, and perhaps pick up pace, since the expectation is
that Bush will visit India within four years.

"The greatest advantage is of dealing with a known person and continuing
along a charted course," said a government source, "If [Senator John] Kerry
had won, one would have to redraw some of the roadmap no matter how much
