The music of Philip Glass is utterly distinctive, if often imitated, rhythmic, reiterative, haunting. He's composed more than a dozen operas, six symphonies, chamber music and the scores for a number of motion pictures, most recently "The Fog of War" and "The Hours." He wrote the music for the closing ceremonies of the Athens Olympics. This week, the National Symphony Orchestra is performing the world premiere of Philip ...
