KUALA LUMPUR, Tues. - In Taman Sri Gombak, near here, nearly everyone knows someone who has been admitted to hospital for dengue in the past few months.

Latifah Rahman, 47, a religious teacher, said her son-in-law, a two- year-old granddaughter and she had dengue two months ago.
"My son-in-law and I were admitted to a private hospital at the same time for six days when we had bouts of fever.
