SEOUL, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- The South Korean National Assembly late
Friday night approved a government bill to extend the deployment of South
Korean troops in Iraq for another year.
Of the total 298 lawmakers, 278 cast their ballots over the troop
extension bill, with 161 voting for, 63 against and 54 abstentions.
The televised last session of the National Assembly in 2004 was
convened to vote on 19-delayed bills.
