SA: Govt dismisses Afghani embassy claims on Bakhtiari

ADELAIDE, Dec 22 AAP - The federal government today dismissed claims from the Afghan
embassy that people had vouched for the Afghani identity of the Bakhtiari family.

Ali and Roqia Bakhtiari and their six children face deportation from Australia to Pakistan,
after failing in legal bids over four years to secure refugee status.

The family claims to be Afghani, but the government says they are from Pakistan.
