Fed: Navy addressing problems with submarine rescue vehicle

SYDNEY, Dec 14 AAP - The navy would not allow a faulty submarine rescue vehicle to
put crews at risk, Defence Minister Robert Hill said today.

Senator Hill said the Royal Australian Navy was addressing problems in the vehicle.

He said an independent authority raised issues about the structure of the rescue vehicle
at a recent exercise.

"That's being addressed by the Navy at the moment," he told reporters.

"I'm not concerned about it, it's a capability that's very important to us.
