A film written and co-starring Jake Broder, who grew up in Cumberland, was recently honored at the British Independent Film Awards.
"The Barn," an 80-minute black comedy about two brothers locked in a barn by gangsters, won the Raindance Award, a special award given to films that best demonstrate the independent film spirit. The awards were announced Nov. 30.
