WA: Govt commits $65 million in effort to win naval contracts
PERTH, Dec 8 AAP - The West Australian government today ramped up its efforts to secure
a $2 billion naval contract, detailing a $65 million strategy to develop a world-class
ship-building hub in the state.
Premier Geoff Gallop and State Development Minister Clive Brown launched the Defence
Shipbuilding Strategy today, saying it was particularly aimed at helping WA win the Royal
Australian Navy's amphibious vessel contract.
