Brandywine Workshop honors 3 visual artists

More than 200 art patrons hailed the achievements of visual artists
Evangeline J. ("E.J.") Montgomery, John Wilson and Charles Searles during
last weekend's James Van Der Zee Awards and Annual Gala held at the Academy
of Fine Arts.

Montgomery received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The James Van Der Zee Award was established in 1976 by the Brandywine
Workshop to serve as a living memorial to the late Harlem photographer who
was an early associate of the Brandywine board of directors.
