GABORONE, Oct. 29, 2004 (IPS/GIN) -- With the gaze of the
international community fixed on next week's presidential election
in the United States, little attention has been paid to the fact
that Botswana is also scheduled to go to the polls within the next
few days.
The fact that the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) is
widely expected to win the Oct. 30 vote has contributed to the low
key coverage of the campaign beyond the country's borders - as has
Botswana's economic success.
