BEIJING, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese Ministry of Commerce
announced here Thursday that it would honor eight assistance programs toward
developing countries for "outstanding operation."
These programs, all initiated by Chinese companies, involve
construction projects in Bangladesh, Laos, Egypt, Tonga and Rwanda, as
well as three material supply projects in Pakistan, Indonesia and Cuba.

A total of 44 assistance programs entered a competition for the honor
which officially began last November.
