United Methodist Church. 1. In England, the branch of Methodism formed in 1907 by the union of the
Methodist New Connexion, the
Bible Christians, and the
United Methodist Free Churches (qq.v.). It was itself embodied in the
Methodist Church (q.v.) in 1932.
2. In the USA, the Church formed in 1968 by a union of the Methodist Church and the Evangelical United Brethren Church. It is the main Methodist Church in the country.
