Sext. (1) In canon law the sixth book of decretals, promulgated by Boniface VIII in 1298. It contains the decretals issued since the publication of the five books by Gregory IX (1234). (2) The Office appointed to be said at noon, i.e. the sixth hour. See TERCE, SEXT, NONE.
