Semiarianism

Semiarianism. The teaching of the theologians who gathered round Basil of Ancyra from c.356 and upheld a doctrine of Christ's Sonship intermediate between that of orthodoxy and Arianism. Over against the term ‘Homoousios’ (‘of the same substance’), they took as their watchword ‘Homoiousios’ (‘of like substance’), but the whole tendency of the group was towards orthodoxy.
