Particular Baptists

Particular Baptists. The group of Baptists whose theology was essentially Calvinistic, as contrasted with the Arminianism of the General Baptists. Their first community in England was established in 1633. In 1891 the General Baptists of the New Connexion joined the Baptist Union which had been formed among the Particular Baptists.
