Martin V

Martin V (1368–1431), Pope. Oddo (Otto) Colonna was unanimously elected Pope at the Council of Constance in 1417. His reign marked the end of the Great Schism, the antipope Clement VIII submitting in 1429. He strengthened the papal power by dissolving the Council of Constance in 1418 and that of Pavia and Siena in 1424.
