Manasses, Prayer of

Manasses, Prayer of. This Book of the Apocrypha consists of a penitential prayer put into the mouth of Manasseh, King of Judah. Its date is uncertain, but it is attested by the 3rd cent. AD. In the E. Church it is recited in Compline during Lent and on the eves of certain great feasts.
