Jassy, Synod of

Jassy, Synod of (1642). A synod of the Orthodox Church which met at Jassy (in modern Romania). Including representatives of both the Greek and Slav Orthodox Churches, it condemned the Calvinist teachings of Cyril Lucar and ratified (a somewhat emended text of) Peter Mogila's Orthodox Confession.
