Barsumas

Barsumas (d. before 496), Bp. of Nisibis in the Church of the East. He became a keen propagandist for the theology of Theodore of Mopsuestia. He was instrumental in founding an influential theological school at Nisibis, and, when the school of Edessa was closed in 489, he welcomed its exiles.
