Annunciation of the BVM. The feast, observed on 25 Mar. (‘Lady Day’), commemorates the announcement of the Incarnation by the angel Gabriel to the BVM and the conception of Christ in her womb (Lk. 1: 26–38). In the RC Church it is now called the ‘Annunciation of the Lord’.
