hallel

A Dictionary of the Bible | 1997 | | © A Dictionary of the Bible 1997, originally published by Oxford University Press 1997. (Hide copyright information) Copyright

hallel The hymn of praise sung by Jesus and the eleven disciples after the Lord's Supper (Mark 14: 26), as was customary at the end of a Passover meal. It was part of Psalms 115–18, which were praises inspired by the story of the Exodus.
