Mishnah
Mishnah Rabbinic law as collected and organized into categories about 200 CE. It represented the culmination of the oral tradition of centuries. Worked out in Palestine, it became the basis of both the Palestinian and Babylonian
Talmuds, which are commentaries on the Mishnah, and in which some modifications were made. The laws covered both religious and social and economic matters, and in total there are sixty-three tractates. The one most often referred to in NT commentaries is
