Judgement
Judgement In the OT God is depicted as a Judge who will reward people according to their deserts—with wrath on the evil and blessings on the righteous (Deut. 10: 18; 32: 41). In the NT, while people's attitude to Jesus is itself a self-judgement (John 3: 18), there are also suggestions of a future judgement (e.g. Matt. 25: 3 ff.; Rom. 2: 15 f.) in which the evil and the righteous will be for ever separated. The criterion of judgement is spelt out in the
parable of the sheep and the goats (Matt. 25: 31 ff.).
