deep dyslexia

deep dyslexia n. A form of dyslexia characterized by inability to read non-words (such as kebby), semantic errors, and impairment in reading abstract rather than concrete words; reading by relying on an established vocabulary of words that are recognized by sight. A person with deep dyslexia may misread drink as beer or country as nation and may also make visual errors such as reading single as signal. See also cognitive neuropsychology.
