photino

photino A hypothetical fundamental particle that, according to certain theories, is related to the photon. In so-called supersymmetry theories, all bosons have a partner which is a fermion; the partner of the photon (a boson) would be the photino (a fermion). Photinos may have been produced in sufficient numbers in the Big Bang to account for part of the *dark matter in the Universe.
