maximum-entropy method

maximum-entropy method A mathematical technique used in image processing to extract reliable information from noisy and incomplete data. It is designed to ensure that features appearing in the final image (such as a radio map) are likely to be real rather than spurious. It is especially useful for images of extended objects which contain no point sources.
