apohele An asteroid whose orbit lies entirely within that of the Earth (an aphelion of 0.98 astronomical units or less). The first proposed member of the group was 1998 DK
36, but its orbit is poorly determined. The first confirmed apohele was 2003 CP
20, aphelion 0.98 AU, and the second was 2004 JG
6, aphelion 0.97 AU.
